Raised in Montreal, by way of New Brunswick, Oliver Charles grew up in a musical family. He used to listen to his father play guitar and sing Eric Clapton, Don McLean, The Beatles, just to name a few. Discovering his passion for music, Oliver taught himself piano and guitar, graduated with a song writing degree, and then quickly made a name for himself through his musical maturity.

The gifted artist delivers his own brand of well-crafted pop-folk songs highlighted by catchy melodies and touching lyrics. Singing in both English and French, Oliver envelops the listeners with his strong and powerful vocal approach. His acting abilities have also been highlighted while performing leading roles in several musical productions at the Segal Center and the Centaur Theatre in Montreal.

Since 2015, Oliver released four (4) singles to further develop his writing abilities, whether it be the unifying strength of his vocals and his acoustic arrangements that inspires a folk sound and a nod to hooks that are more common in modern pop. Feedback from the public was key to his development as these songs quickly entered in the Top 25 of the English ADISQ charts in Quebec.

“I’m ready to write the album” said Oliver, after releasing “Follow Me” (2016) which garnered excellent support from radio and TV audience. The track reached over 400k plays on Spotify, peaked at # 3 on the ADISQ charts and was named “Hit of The Week”. Follow Me inspired a first music video for Oliver then reached 200k views on YouTube.

After rigorous months of writing lyrics, music and perfecting his sound that is ideal for Hot-AC, Oliver Charles is finally recording, alongside the well-known producers The Grand Brothers, a solid first full-length album that is set for release in early 2018.
